The southern section of the Ayliffes Road bridge is starting to take shape, with the first two steel box girders installed last weekend.
The third bridge to be installed on Main South Road over the intersection of Ayliffes, South and Shepherds Hill Roads will carry traffic from Main South Road onto Ayliffes Road.
The second bridge to be installed on Main South Road over the Southern Expressway is currently being constructed offline on the section of land between Main South Road, Marion Road and the Southern Expressway (near Hungry Jacks) and will then be transported and lifted into place.
The new Main South Road bridge over the Southern Expressway is now open to traffic.

Gateway South, a joint venture between Fulton Hogan and Laing O'Rourke has been awarded the major works contract for the $620 million Darlington Upgrade Project. The team also includes KBR, SMEC, Coffey, Tract, Cox Architects, Resonate, Gould Thorpe Planning and Jensen planning and Design. Construction is set to commence in early 2016 and be completed by mid-2019.
