About the project
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is upgrading the Main North Road median, between George McCullum Road and Curtis Road/Craigmore Road intersection at Blakeview.
This project contributes to the South Australian Strategic Priority of Safe Communities, Healthy Neighbourhoods. Funding has been obtained through the 2015-16 Australian Government Black Spot Program.
The median upgrade along this section of Main North Road will include rationalising the existing median openings, providing sheltered u-turn and extended right turn lanes. A Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing at the intersection of Main North Road and George McCullum Road has been installed.
Main construction works are scheduled to commence in November 2016 and are expected to be completed by the end of January 2017, weather permitting.
