The State Government is exploring commercial opportunities associated with redevelopment of court facilities in the CBD.
Gauging the interest of the private sector will provide the government with options for the renewal of court infrastructure in the city.
The existing Court Precinct on the corner of Gouger Street and King William Road and the large site occupied by the Supreme Court is a substantial area of land which is underutilised and represents a fantastic development opportunity. The exercise gives developers the chance to put their ideas forward.
Earlier this year, Attorney General announced a study to analyse and identify the future needs of South Australia’s judicial system, including strategic infrastructure requirements.
This work is looking at projected growth in the judicial system expected in the next 20 years, including changes in judicial practices, projected case filings, judicial workload and staffing levels as well as the impacts of this growth on facility requirements. The study is expected to be presented to Government next year in conjunction with the feedback received from the market sounding exercise.

Closing date for submissions is 2pm Friday, 30 November 2012.
