Rail Maintenance Works Calendar 2017

The Department is introducing a new electronic notification system so that residents can receive rail maintenance works notifications via email or SMS (text message). This will allow residents to be notified in a more timely manner, especially for unplanned works. This system is being trialled throughout 2017 and written notifications will gradually be phased out. Household members can provide their details via an online form and receive electronic notifications of works that occur within the vicinity of a nominated address. All information will be kept confidential and only used to notify residents of rail works. There will be the option to ‘opt out’ of the notification system at any time. Family members of residents who do not have access to email or sms messaging can register to be notified on their behalf.
We are currently trailing the new system with residents who live in the following postcodes: 5000, 5031, 5034, 5035, 5038, 5043, 5044, 5045, 5158 and 5160. Further postcodes will be invited to subscribe during 2017.

Note: While the department will make every effort to maintain the accuracy of this Rail Maintenance Works Calendar, some changes to the dates, details and locations of works may be required without notice, depending on weather conditions, productivity and other logistical considerations.
In addition, some works may not be captured in this calendar such as emergency response activities.
The calendar is updated regularly as dates and times of upcoming maintenance works are confirmed. Planned rail closures will also be published on this calendar to provide as much advance notice to rail passengers as possible.
